ICHIKAWA FELT IS AN ANSWER ICHIKAWA has five(5)main types of wet felts.

Using one (1) layer base-fabric, it gives an excellent start-up ability under the soft nip position and maintains a good dewatering throughout the felt life !! Using two (2) layer base-fabric, it gives an excellent compressibility and caliper& retension under the extreme loads of today's press !! Unlike conventional wet felts, Laminate ACE combines two more layers of base-fabric resulting in the amalgamation of wet felt characteristics previously considered impossible. Finely woven surface layer (sheet side) provides superior sheet quality while rigid and incompressible bottom layer assures optimum dewatering and improved caliper retention even under the hard nip and shoe press positions !! Please also refer to our newly developed Laminate Ace called "LAMINATE-S" reference Using open ended two (2) layer or combined multiple layer base-fabric. Monofilaments applied to both MD and CMD yarns offer higher void volume which improves water handling, and less compaction in the nip. Open-Ace gives easier, faster (including seaming time) and safer installation. Open-Ace is running successfully even in the shoe presses. Multi Ply Ace offers Special Multiplex Base Fabric Structure constructed by piling several layers of highly pliable fabrics. Multi Ply Ace is highly adaptable to various operating parameters. In addition to the base fabric designs, the number of layers can be adjusted to best complement the machine conditions.
