Our shoe press belts have no equal

The quality of Japanese paper is considered one of the best in the world, and one of the recent technological advancements that is responsible for such progress is the shoe press.

As the shoe press has a much wider nip zone than the conventional roll press, it is particularly good at dewatering and smoothing the surface of paper. Extremely high pressure is applied to shoe press belts, thus, strength and durability under constant pressure are required. Due to the radical departure from the conventional technology, entirely new manufacturing methods had to be invented. We believe that the world market for shoe press belts has a bright future, and we have been striving hard to improve our quality to further expand our market share.

We've acquired enormous amounts of research data from the onset of shoe press development, and in 1988 we began to export our shoe press belts to USA. Since then our products have been ranked the best in the world. The best proof of this is the numerous patents we have on shoe press belts, and our record of export to leading papermaking countries such as USA and Northern Europe, as well as domestic consumers. More than 400 shoe press units are now working all over the world, and we are prepared to supply all kinds of belts for them.

In the papermaking industry, technological innovations are still under way. Ichikawa Co., Ltd. , also known as "the pioneer of shoe press belts", is pushing forward with more specialized research and development to maintain our leading position in the world.
