In the papermaking industry, technological innovation has progressed rapidly. We ourselves have also been constantly upgrading our own technology. Without new data and the original know-how, we can't produce satisfactory results. By making full use of the highly specialized techniques, we can produce new products or develop more cost effective production methods which contribute to the papermaking industry in the world. To keep up with the advanced needs and globalization of the papermaking industry, we reorganized our Technical Division in 1997, which is now in charge of research & development, designing, and technical services. By strengthening our research and development efforts, we intend to support the rapid advancement of papermaking industry through deepening our technological specialty and knowledge, and to send new products out to the world.
In other words, we gave top priority to research and development of papermaking felts and shoe press belts. The R & D department is equipped with high-tech testing apparatus, such as a large-scale pilot machine which is modeled after press section of a papermaking machine, all kinds of press simulation testers, and extremely precise equipment to analyze the test results. All this, for the pursuit of more advanced research.
